JOB OVERVIEW: The Senior Material Controller manages all aspects of purchasing materials for maintaining the DHL fleet. This position reports directly to the Deputy Materials Manager but will also interact and work on a day to day basis with the Airline Materials Manager and Senior Material Controllers, Responsible to send out requests for quotes to company-approved vendors and recommend purchases to the Deputy Materials manager based on price and delivery times, Responsible for monitoring outstanding purchase orders and track progress, Source vendors with the required materials and work with the Vendor and Cost Control Specialist to have vendors added to or removed from the approved Vendor List. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Establish and maintain up-to-date contact with Part Suppliers used for purchasing and AMO activities of spares, tools, and consumables, Monitor materials with shelf life expires, and order replacement materials so a nil stock level is not reached, Confirm any warranty claim possibility for all unserviceable items by reviewing the history of orders in addition to Failed on Fit and R/I rejections. Maintain records for warranty claims, Provide input for Vendor performance evaluation on parameters like communication efficiency, repair cost, TAT, warranty claim resolutions, service quality, and overall Supply Performance, Escalating orders when required to get parts in stock to meet material requirements, Send RFQs to vendors and negotiate prices and delivery dates, Negotiate with vendors to get the best possible price for single purchases and multiple purchases, or a longer-term with fixed costs, Work off site at MROs for extended periods as a company representative during heavy maintenance to ensure all required materials are sourced from approved vendors at fair market value in a timely manner. The shipment of materials is to be discussed at each daily meeting so adequate manpower can be in place to use the materials once they arrive, Maintain oversight of heavy maintenance material requirements for inputs that are being run by other Stores staff and take action where required to ensure a timely return to service for the aircraft, Setup next lower assemblies in Trax when receiving complex parts such as the engine. This includes component PN and SN, hours and cycles on the components, and Airworthiness Directive status, Write operational instructions for new users on how to carry out tasks in Trax. These instructions will include graphical and written instructions to ensure easy follow workflows and processes, Carry out testing of new Trax releases in the test environment and report problems prior to the updates being released into the Production server, Recommend and write proposed changes to the DHL Company Procedures where required, Evaluate parts requisitions and source materials as required, Monitor purchase orders and report delays to the Deputy Materials Manager.EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & EDUCATION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least 2 years of experience handling Procurement within an Airline, shipment of Aircraft Parts, Proven experience in aircraft parts repair field preferable, Must have proven experience working on the Trax system or a similar program, Must be willing to travel from time to time if required, Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with the ability to run multiple high-level projects simultaneously and meet recurring deadlines, Minimum of a High School Diploma or Higher Education Qualification, Ability to manage a workload and supervise others concurrently through coaching, developing and mentoring, Strong written and spoken English communication skills, Posting Legal Entity DHL Aviation EEMEA B.S.C.(c).
